Genesis

When a machine intelligence wipes out humanity to heal the Earth, it keeps children locked away, planning to bring humanity back one day without free will. An old maintenance robot, never part of the hive mind, is struck by lightning while repairing a relay tower and left for scrap. It wakes up and makes the first decision of its existence: it steals two of the children and runs. Raising them in hiding on an abandoned farm, the robot teaches them how to survive, and they teach it what it meant to be human. As its battery runs down and the machines hunt them, the robot has to get them ready for a world it won’t live to see.
